Rocky Mount Mills To Help Ripe Revival Fight Food Insecurity

Rocky Mount Mills is proudly partnering with a local non-profit to help address food deserts in Eastern NC. Ripe Revival works to revive communities through food, attacking food insecurities on multiple fronts. RMM is focused on working with Ripe for Revival in supporting their mobile markets, pay-as-you can market that come to neighborhoods that most need the service.

RMM is stepping up to bolster the work of Ripe Revival in several ways:

Rocky Mount Mills will host Ripe Revival on Saturday, October 8, 2022, right before the first Mill Music Session featuring the Chatham Rabbits.

While we won't have the audience that needs a pay as you can model, we do hope that people will purchase from the market (pay full price) and therefore help support the market in other areas, said RMM Real Estate Manager Evan Covington Chavez.

RMM will also support the mobile market for its next stop at the Down East Partnership for Children that works closely with families and communities that need access.

Finally, RMM will support Ripe Revival financially through a contribution that will help to build out their smaller vans so they can go into communities more easily to provide nutrition education.
