In collaboration with the partner agency Robotproof, VOYRE embarked on an exciting venture to assist Samsung in the creation of two remarkable VR Modules-The Frame and The Freestyle. What began as training modules for new product launches evolved into breathtaking immersive artworks, thanks to the transformative capabilities of Mistika VR.
Situated in Chicago, VOYRE is an XR studio renowned for its expertise in crafting captivating experiences using cutting-edge immersive technology. With a team of EMMY-winning story designers, the studio has consistently pushed the boundaries of creativity in the XR domain.

The Frame and The Freestyle: Conceptualizing the Vision
As a part of Samsung's premium line, the company aimed to launch two innovative new products: The Freestyle, a portable projector, and The Frame, a premium TV that seamlessly transformed into an art gallery when turned off. To ensure a successful introduction, Samsung recognized the need to rapidly train its sales team across retail stores throughout the United States on the unique features of these new offerings.

Despite the exceptional nature of the products, there was a missing WOW factor. Samsung wanted to create a memorable training experience that would show how the products would be used by real customers in their homes. Robotproof and VOYRE worked together to design an ingenious solution.

We wanted to show how the products would be incorporated into the real lives of customers, and so shooting live action 360 video was critical,
explained Scott Lynch, Head of XR Development at VOYRE. We knew that combining commercial level production with an engaging story would provide a complete immersive 360 experience through a VR headset. Thousands of sales associates have been trained using these modules, enabling them to retain a significantly higher level of information about the new features.
Setting the Stage: Unleashing Creative Potential in Pre-production
During the pre-production phase, VOYRE worked closely with Robotproof to explore innovative approaches for showcasing and developing engaging content. The objective was to create content that was not only entertaining but also captivating for the viewers. To achieve this, the team aimed to film in real locations with real people ensuring an authentic representation of how the products would appear in real-life scenarios.

The goal was to enhance the unique selling points of each product. For The Freestyle series, the creatives envisioned a story that portrayed two friends planning a memorable birthday party.
This narrative would emphasize the versatility and portability of The Freestyle, highlighting how it could seamlessly adapt to different environments, explained Scott Lynch.

For the Frame series, on the other hand, the focus was on a design-savvy family seeking to transform their home's ambiance.
The Frame is a really more then a TV, it not only has a great video picture but when the screen is turned off, it has a low power mode that displays beautiful art. We wanted to tell how the family could use The Frame to enhance the aesthetic appeal of any room in the home.

Leveraging the power of stitching with Mistika VR
Captured in 8K x 8K stereoscopic format, the project was mastered in 4K x 4K since the final delivery format was going to be on Pico G2 4K VR headset. The post-production process started by creating low-resolution rough stitches of all the footage using the batch rendering features in Mistika VR. This allowed them to expedite the editing process, incorporating placeholder graphics and music.
Once the initial edit was completed, an EDL was generated. The creators then returned to Mistika VR to create full-resolution fine stitches only for the selected frames, significantly reducing rendering time and data storage requirements.
