Raycom Media Acquires WebStream Sports

Raycom Media announced the acquisition of WebStream Sports, a provider of live sports production for television and the web. WebStream will operate as a new division of Raycom Media. WebStream founder John Servizzi will continue as CEO and Greg Weitekamp will continue as President. WebStream maintains its headquarters in Indianapolis, IN, and offices in Charlotte, NC.

WebStream Productions, Inc. was established in 2006. With offices in Indianapolis, IN, and Charlotte, NC, it produces more than 1000 live events annually for television, internet and in-venue audiences. Its output has been seen on ESPNU, ESPN3, CBS Sports Network, Fox Sports and Comcast Regional Networks, and NCAA.com, among others.

WebStream's five mobile production units, ranging from a compact Sprinter to highly versatile mid-size trailers, join Raycom's pair of 53-foot expando units and duo of uplink trucks, allowing the growing company to deliver compelling content at all levels of production, from web-only to national network content.

Raycom Media, an employee-owned company based in Montgomery, AL, is one of the nation's largest broadcasters and owns and/or provides services for 53 television stations in 37 markets and 18 states. Raycom stations cover 13.1% of U.S. television households and employ nearly 4,000 individuals in full and part-time positions.

In addition to television stations, Raycom owns Raycom Sports (a marketing, production and events management and distribution company), Tupelo-Honey Productions (a NY-based production company), Limerick Studios (a Charlotte, NC-based motion graphics design house), and Broadview Media (a post production/digital signage company based in Montgomery, AL).
