Significant rainfall leading to localised flooding is expected in places over the southern West Coast District and Atlantis Region of the Cape Metropole late morning, and western Overberg District, Garden Route District of the Western Cape in the afternoon into the evening.

Severe thunderstorms with possible heavy downpours, hail and localised flooding are expected in places over the Central Karoo, northern interior of the Eastern Cape, south eastern parts of the Northern Cape Province and western parts of Free State Province.

Weather forecast and UV index for all provinces Gauteng: Partly cloudy and warm with scattered shoawers and thundershowers.

UVB sunburn index: High.

Mpumalanga: Fog patches on the high ground at first, otheriwse cloudy in the early morning with drizzle along the escarpment, becoming partly cloudy and cool to warm with scattered showers and thundershowers but isolated in the east.

Limpopo: Cloudy along the escarpment in the morning with drizzle and fog patches, otherwise partly cloudy and warm to hot with isolated showers and thundershowers.

North-West Province: Cloudy and cool to warm with showers and thundershowers.

Free State: Cloudy and cool to warm with showers and thundershowers.

Northern Cape: Morning fog along the coast otherwise partly cloudy and cool to warm but hot in the interior. It will become cloudy in the afternoon with isolated showers and thundershowers but scattered in the east. The wind along the coast will be moderate to fresh north-westerly.

Western Cape: Partly cloudy to cloudy at times and warm to hot with isolated to scattered showers and thundershowers but widespread along the south coast. It will be very hot over the Central Karoo. The wind along the coast will be moderate to fresh easterly to south-easterly south of Table Bay, otherwise northerly to north-westerly.

UVB index: High.

Western half of the Eastern Cape: Partly cloudy and warm with scattered showers and thundershowers but widespread in the north. The wind along the coast will be Fresh to strong easterly.

Eastern half of the Eastern Cape: Partly cloudy and warm with scattered showers and thundershowers but widespread in the north. The wind along the coast will be Light to moderate easterly becoming north easterly towards the evening.

KwaZulu-Natal: Partly cloudy and cool to warm with scattered showers and thundershowers but isolated over the extreme north. The wind along the coast will be Moderate easterly to north-easterly.
