New NUKE

VFX software developer, The Foundry, will release an entire new range of its NUKE software later this year.

The new range of the company's popular node-based compositing software will be accessible in open betas in the coming weeks. The new release includes version 9 of NUKE, NUKEX and NUKE STUDIO.

NUKE STUDIO, announced at this year's NAB, will be a node-based VFX, editorial and finishing studio designed to empower creative individuals working independently, as well as collaborative teams working on quick-turnaround projects.

Upgrades appearing in NUKE version 9 include a Native Flipbook tool, performance updates, enhanced 2D format support and OFlow improvements.

NUKEX and NUKE STUDIO will feature a Planar tracker overhaul and the addition of Kronos, Vector Generator and Motion Blur 2, which aims to reduce the artefacts conventionally associated with optical flow.

Philippa Carroll, The Foundry's NUKE product marketing manager said, It's a very exciting proposition for us to be able present this new ecosystem of NUKE products that each serve creative people looking for specific workflows and cater to the evolving way people work in post-production. Both existing NUKE and NUKEX users will see a wide range of feature updates and benefits in the NUKE 9 range.
