The campaign, We are Kubota aired nationally and became a rally for the brand and the people who use the products. Each frame encapsulates the sincerity and realness of the actors, family and relationships. What I really liked about this campaign was that it was about the people who use the Kubota product, says Director/DP Chris Woods. We shot in rural Iowa and the farmland surrounding the city. Our cast was primarily comprised of real people and theres something about working with real people that makes the whole experience more authentic, Woods continues.
The spot and a 2 minute-plus brand video capture the authenticity and beauty of the farmland throughout, ending with the products used to maintain it. The location selection was also an important part of this campaign in that we wanted the viewer to really feel the texture as well as the distinction of the different set-ups within the scenes. The creative team at Paulsen lives and breathes the agriculture business so it was nice to work with an agri-business group that understood the importance of the visual aspect of the story, says Woods. The beauty of the spot is conveyed through smooth camera movements, well-utilized slow motion, and a warm saturated effect that compliments the mood of the campaign.
John Brooks, Massive Post Productions, shares, Ive worked with Chris before and knew that he would plus the job, bringing his talented visual style and key team to the project. Woods is no stranger to shooting Agri campaigns, having worked with past Clients including Monsanto. I was born in the Midwest and spent the first few years of my life growing up on a farm. Needless to say, 4 days shooting in Iowa was sort of a homecoming for me, Woods ends.
