DMC expands A+E Networks portfolio with launch of BLAZE Italy on fully virtualised playout, media management and distribution platform

DMC, the European media gateway, today announced that it has added BLAZE Italy to its portfolio of A E Networks channels. The high definition (HD) factual entertainment channel is powered by DMCs fully virtualised playout platform, which enables broadcasters and content providers to shrink time to market, reduce hardware requirements and maintain full control over their content.

Launched exclusively with Sky in Italy on channel number 119, BLAZE broadcasts factual entertainment content produced by A E Networks in HD quality, ranging from reality shows through to docu-series. To ensure a successful launch and ongoing broadcast, DMC is providing a wide range of media management, playout and distribution services, including subtitling in English and Italian, advanced dynamic graphics capabilities, Dolby Audio and simulcast distribution on DMC European fully managed fibre network. DMC also provides on-demand media to Sky in Italy through its self-service media portal.

BLAZE is one of the worlds first channels to be launched on DMCs new virtualised playout platform. The channel is distributed using DMCs fully managed European fibre network, which provides highly effective redundancy and disaster recovery management.

Competition series: including Alone

Everyday life titles: Ax Men, Power & Ice, Mountain Men

Food series: The Wahlburgers and Epic Meal Empire

Lifestyle shows: Fit to Fat to Fit and Flipping Vegas

Motoring programmes: Alaska Off Road Warriors and Leepu & Pitbull

Transactional genre shows: Barter Kings, Storage Wars, and Down East Dickering.
