Nevion's VP of Engineering to talk next-generation compression at the FutureSport conference in London

Andy Rayner, Nevion's vice president of engineering, will be speaking at Sports Video Group Europe's FutureSport conference in London on Tuesday, 3 December 2013. Andy, who was formerly the head of broadcast solutions at BT Innovate & Design, will be a panellist on the Next-Generation Compression: Doing More With Less' session which starts at 15.45.

Moderated by David Davies, the managing editor of SVG Europe, the panel of experts will talk about how compression technologies like HEVC/h.265, JPEG 2000, and other standards can open up a wide variety of new options. In particular when it comes to backhauling and distributing sports content. They'll also discuss the latest developments in compression and what they mean for the industry.

SVG Europe's FutureSport is a day-long conference for sport production executives, taking place at London's Kia Oval. It's designed to help attendees understand and explore some of the core concepts that are shaping the long-term revenue opportunities related to sport content creation and distribution.
