In a significant offseason acquisition, one of the industry's leading systems integrators, KMH Integration, has hired industry veteran Don Sperling as SVP of Broadcast and Digital Engagement. The former SVP and Executive Producer for the New York Giants will lead the company's growing creative services division.
Our customers' expectations are changing as they explore new ways to enhance their brand and increase their visibility, KMH president Kevin Henneman said in the official announcement on Thursday. Don's unique end-user perspective will help us provide the direction and guidance to close the gaps between turning their goals into reality.
While with the Giants for eighteen years, Sperling oversaw the team's in-house content and production workflows, creating dynamic gameday and branded content. The team just recently completed the celebration of its 100th anniversary. Sperling and his department produced Giants 100, a series of digital and broadcast initiatives, events, and in-person experiential activations.
KMH has the unique skills to marry AV technologies with broadcast systems design - something I have not seen other integrators provide, Sperling said in the anouncement. Their technology and industry expertise, coupled with my experience on the end-user side, gives me the expanded resources necessary to reach and support customers with a customized experiential approach to each engagement, not just a rinse-and-repeat of previous projects.
Prior to his time with the Giants, Sperling was the SVP and Executive Producer of NBA Entertainment. One of his career highlights there was helping create and develop NBA Inside Stuff, the wildly popular series aimed at youth fans. The series was recently inducted into the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame.
One of the company's major focuses in the wake of Sperling's hiring is incorporating broadcast-quality production capabilities into A/V infrastructures, a shift that Henneman has termed AV Casting. This more corporate deployment of video infrastructures empowers companies to build broadcast-quality on-site studios, install TVs throughout a facility to displaying 24/7 visuals, creating immersive office lobby and presentation spaces, and more.
In addition to delivering traditional system integration, consulting and design services, KMH is increasingly specifying and installing high-pixel pitch, high-resolution LED screens and mixed XR/VR technologies to create immersive environments.
