Sachtler Ace L and New FSB Tripod Systems at NAB 2013 05 Mar 2013

Sachtler, a part of Vitec Videocom, a Vitec Group company, will present its new Ace L fluid head for the first time ever in the USA from April 8-11 at NAB booth C6432. The new 75mm fluid head carries camera set-ups of up to six kg (13 lbs) and is available with various very lightweight carbon-fiber tripods in a system package. In addition, Sachtler will introduce the new heavy-duty ENG 75/2 D HD tripod, which, together with the FSB 6 and FSB 8, makes for a particularly stable and durable combination. Furthermore, attendees can try out the artemis camera stabilizer systems.

The new Ace L fluid head expands the Ace product family which Sachtler launched in 2011 with the successful Ace M tripod systems. In comparison to Ace M, Ace L has a more flexible payload range of zero to six kg (0 to 13 lbs). Anyone who equips his or her DSLR camera, HDV camcorder, or small-format film camera such as the Blackmagic Design Cinema Camera, with camera accessories can benefit from this. Ace L is sold in combination with three especially lightweight carbon-fiber tripods and scores high with typical Sachtler features such as a phosphorescent touch bubble. Whether with a mid-level or ground spreader or with the telescopic TT 75/2 CF tripod for a particularly versatile height range the Ace L systems can be easily set up, feature intuitive handling, and are reliable partners during a variety of film shoots. Freelance cinematographer Johnnie Behiri from Vienna has already tested Ace L: For me, the Sachtler Ace L is a great further development of Ace M. Thanks to the increased payload and the additional professional features, Ace L is the perfect tool for my work with an array of different camera set-ups.

New heavy-duty tripod in the 75mm range: the ENG 75/2 D HD

With a larger tube diameter than standard tripods, the new tripod ENG 75/2 D HD is especially stable and capable of carrying heavy loads. Together with the FSB 6 and FSB 8 fluid heads, it is a diverse and robust support system. Additionally, with the ENG 75/2 D HD, the tried-and-tested Sachtler fast-action clamping, which provides for maximum comfort and a particularly fast set-up, is now also available in the 75mm range. Handy extra: The mid-level spreader of the tripod can be removed without tools.

Modular, diverse, innovative: the artemis camera stabilizer systems

The artemis camera stabilizer system offers precision and comfort both of which is essential for my work, says French steadi operator Matthieu Lornat about the modular systems developed by Curt O. Schaller. At the NAB, visitors can experience a live demonstration of the system's practical features such as HiCap cabling and Hot Swap technology that provides an uninterrupted power supply when changing batteries.
