RT COVERAGE OF BUDGET 2015
10 October 2014: RT will provide comprehensive coverage of Budget 2015 on Tuesday 14th October with extensive reporting and analysis across television, radio, online and mobile.
Television coverage of Budget 2015 begins on RT One at 2.00pm as Bryan Dobson and Keelin Shanley present live coverage and analysis of the Budget speeches by the Minister for Finance, Michael Noonan TD and the Minister for Public Expenditure and Reform, Brendan Howlin TD, right through the afternoon. Nuacht RT will follow directly on RT One at 5.45pm, while live coverage of D il ireann featuring responses from the opposition will continue on RT 2 between 3.45pm and 7.00pm.
RT News Now will simulcast the budget coverage on RT One throughout the day as well as providing a concise, easy-to-view guide to the key political and economic decisions.
Drivetime's coverage of Budget 2015, presented by Mary Wilson, will begin at the earlier time of 2.30pm on RT Radio 1, and will feature the live broadcast of the Budget speeches. Mary will interview both ministers, fresh from the Budget debate in D il ireann. The Drivetime team will also report from around the country with Fergal Keane on Kildare Street, Philip Boucher-Hayes reporting on departmental briefings, Brian Lally speaking to individuals and small business owners in Loughrea, Co. Galway, and Donal O'Herlihy highlighting how Budget 2015 will impact on one typical household. Mary Wilson will also interview representatives of the main political parties, as they outline their responses to Budget 2015, and political analysis from Brian Dowling.
RT .ie will provide comprehensive online coverage and analysis including full Budget detail and reaction. RT 's news tracker will chart each development on this key day for every Irish household and business. The RT News Now App will feature all the main text in English and as Gaeilge, along with audio and video output while live streams from all of RT 's television and radio coverage will also be available worldwide to users via the RT Player and RT Radio Player.
RT Raidi na Gaeltachta's L na C inaisn ise will come live from Leinster House from 3:45 pm on Tuesday. A panel of speakers, to include tax consultant Ciar n Feinneadha, journalist ine N Chiar in and financial expert Conall M r in, will offer their analysis of Budget 2015 on the programme, presented by M ir n N Ghadhra. Representatives of the country's various political parties will also contribute their opinions of the budget during the show, which runs until 6.00pm.
The Six-One News with Bryan Dobson and Sharon Ni Bheolain will be extended until 7.30pm with a comprehensive look at the Budget, an interview with Minister Noonan live from RT 's D il Studio, and analysis from RT correspondents along with reaction from politicians. Later in the evening there will be also be budget news and reaction on the Nine O'Clock News with Eileen Dunne.
Prime Time will feature a Budget Special at 9.40pm presented by Miriam O'Callaghan and David McCullagh. The programme will feature a debate between Minister for Finance Michael Noonan TD and Fianna Fail's Finance spokesman, Michael McGrath TD, along with reaction and contributions from other politicians, interest groups and members of the audience.
On RT Radio 1 from 10pm, Cormac hEadhra presents The Late Debate and will be reviewing all of the details of Budget 2015 with reaction an analysis from across the political spectrum.
On Wednesday morning at 10am Today with Sean O'Rourke will air a post-Budget special as Ministers Brendan Howlin TD and Michael Noonan TD join Sean O'Rouke in studio for a live phone-in. The public will get the opportunity to pose questions to both Ministers Michael Noonan and Brendan Howlin about how the budget affects them.
