Custom Consoles desks chosen for BBC Studioworks facility at Television Centre London

Custom Consoles announces the completion of a multi-desk project for BBC Studioworks in White City. Electrically-height-adjustable desks have been provided for use in the edit suites, plus 20U high equipment racks from the Custom Consoles SystemTwo product range.

The desks are variants of our standard SystemTwo series, 2.6 metres wide and each configured for use by two operators, says Custom Consoles sales manager Gary Fuller. Three pods are positioned to the rear of each desktop, accommodating in total up to 9U of equipment. These pods also function as a support bridge for up to three video monitor displays which are mounted on individually adjustable Ergotron support arms. Worktop height can be varied from a minimum of 67 to a maximum of 125 centimetres, giving editors the freedom to work while standing or seated. Each desk is finished with hard-wearing graphite-coloured laminate on the worktops and above the equipment pods. Three steel legs with a horizontal crossbeam support each desk, the legs and crossbeam being silver-finished. The result is highly robust, attractively styled to match modern media suite environments, and very user-friendly.

A commercial subsidiary of the BBC, BBC Studioworks (www.bbcstudioworks.com) provides studios and post production services to all the major TV broadcasters and production companies, including the BBC, ITV, Sky, Channel 4, Channel 5 and the Endemol Shine Group.
