IAAF World Indoor Championships 7-9 March, Sopot, Poland

(19/03/2014) Held in March, this was the most important athletic event this year. Sportsmen from 150 countries took part in those perfectly organized Championships. Event was broadcast to some 30 international TV stations and some of them like Eurosport, BBC, TV Globo and TVP (Host Broadcaster) created their own studios in the Ergo Arena in Sopot. Event was also shown on the four giant LED screens located above the main playground.

The event from television point of view was organized and televised by Polish TV. Four productions OB-VANs were engaged in this production. Polish TV, HD 16 camera van was working as the main production centre and all running competitions coverage.

Additionally two OB-VANs from Livecast from Germany were responsible for all other competitions . There were all together 32 cameras working in the Ergo Arena showing the event from all possible angles. Additionally the 4th OB-VAN from Sweden was working exclusively for BBC.

For the first time Newtek 3Play4800, 8-channels slomo system was working at the video referee room, recording all the running competitions for referee purpose. Six cameras from the Polish TV OB-VAN were connected to the 3Play showing precisely all collisions and appeals during competitions. The international jury of the IAAF was extremely satisfied by the performance and quality of the recordings and replays.

This was so far the biggest television event held this year in Poland.
