Real Housewives Executive Producer, Christian Barcellos to Helm FOX International Channels Newly Formed Lifestyle and Reality Programming Unit
APPOINTMENT COMES AS FOX INTERNATIONAL CHANNELS PUSHES GLOBAL CONTENT STRATEGY FURTHER INTO ORIGINAL DEVELOPMENT
Los Angeles, October 16, 2013: Seasoned Executive Producer and production executive Christian Barcellos has been named to the newly created post of Executive Vice President of Lifestyle and Reality Programming for FOX International Channels (FIC), it was announced today by Hernan Lopez, President & Chief Executive Officer of FIC.
Mr. Barcellos is set to lead the overall content strategy and brand editorial of FIC's lifestyle and reality offerings, and will oversee all original development, production and acquisitions. As the most senior global executive, Mr. Barcellos is tasked with developing and implementing a successful long-term programming plan for the group's global lifestyle brand, FOX Life, and to deliver a lifestyle and reality programming slate that can become tentpole programming for the brand. Initially he will be based in New York and report to Hernan Lopez, President and CEO of FIC. He assumes the role this November.
FIC, whose footprint exceeds 300 international networks in 181 countries, is the world's most diversified pay-TV group. Over 1.6 billion homes receive FIC's entertainment, factual, sports and lifestyle channels, which include global powerhouse brands FOX, National Geographic Channel, FOX Sports and FOX Life. The group has been stepping up its production of original content in each of these segments, and has pioneered the global day-and-date rollout of must-watch series such as The Walking Dead, The Bridge and Da Vincis Demons. FIC has also recently announced two new original development projects, including Outcast (from The Walking Dead creator Robert Kirkman) and False Flag (with Keshet International and Parkland's Writer/Director Peter Landsman).

Mr. Barcellos is a 15-year industry vet, who most recently served as VP Production, Executive Producer at Bravo. During his tenure, Mr. Barcellos has overseen some of Bravos most watched, groundbreaking and prestigious series, ranging from Queer Eye for the Straight Guy, Inside the Actors Studio and five incarnations of The Real Housewives franchise including the top rated Atlanta and New Jersey. He has won 3 Primetime Emmy Awards.
In addition, his roster boasts titles like Flipping Out, I Dream of Nene, Bethenny Ever After, Don't Be Tardy...,, Interior Therapy with Jeff Lewis and many more. In 2012, over half of Bravos top 10 series were executive produced by Mr. Barcellos. So far this year, he has overseen the highest rated season and most watched series in Bravos history (Real Housewives of Atlanta) as well as the network's highest-rated non-franchise/non-spin-off freshman series since Queer Eye for the Straight Guy (Married to Medicine).
Prior to Bravo, Mr. Barcellos worked in Creative Services for Rainbow Media where he rose to Creative Director. A graduate of University of Southern Californias School of Cinematic Arts, he started his media career as a freelance screenwriter for various producers including Imagine Entertainment. He grew up overseas and his first after-school job was at WAPA-TV in Puerto Rico, which he describes as a My Favorite Year experience bouncing from soap operas to variety, game and news shows. It taught me a sense of play, adaptability and communal bond that permeates all my work.
