Logan & Sons, the live-action division of the award-winning, bi-coastal content creation studio LOGAN, has added veteran director Christopher Kippenberger to its roster of filmmakers. Hailed as the most interesting man in car porn and the Terry Richardson of car videos, Kippenberger will bring his brash technical and creative vision to Logan & Sons with a focus on automotive and fashion.
As a pioneer in unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) videography, the director helped usher in a new wave of automotive filmmaking from his drone's-eye view of Germany's renowned N rburgring racetrack to the beautifully shot documentary IOM TT about the revered and dangerous Isle of Man TT motorcycle race that was produced through his Studio Kippenberger shingle in just two weeks. The film, which will premiere at the Jalopnik Film Festival at the Theater at Ace Hotel in Los Angeles on Saturday, September 26, follows Kippenberger's lauded commercial work including Mercedes-Benz's Surf's Up.
The Berlin and Miami-based filmmaker brings a rebellious spirit to Logan & Sons roster of directors. We are thrilled to bring Christopher and his one-of-a-kind approach to filmmaking to the U.S. market, said LOGAN/Logan & Sons Founder Alexei Tylevich. He's a risk-taker who has created both viral and highly artistic projects. He adds a new point of view to our roster.
Kippenberger said there was an instant bond when meeting with Tylevich. I started talking to him and we hit a lot of the same topics, Kippenberger said. It's important that you meet like-minded people and build strength in numbers. When I met Alexei, I said, Let's give it a shot and grow together.'
Kippenberger, whose work is often spotlighted in Wired and Jalopnik, will continue to produce and direct long-form films while focusing on commercials and branded content.
