Die Windpomp earns nine Silwerskermfees nominations --

South African Afrikaans film Die Windpomp, produced by ZenHQ Films, has been nominated in nine categories for the 2014 Silwerskermfees, a film festival running from 27 to 30 August in Camps Bay which culminates with an awards ceremony on 30 August.

Die Windpomp is a fantasy love story which is centred around a summer romance in a retirement village.

The film has been nominated in the following categories: Best Film; Etienne Fourie for Best Director and Best Screenplay; Johan Prinsloo for Best Cinematographer; Marga van Rooy for Best Supporting Actress; Leandie du Randt for Best Female Actress; Armand Greyling for Best Male Actor; Johnny de Ridder for Best Original Music; Mario Kowarz for Best Editor.

Another ZenHQ produced film, The Forgotten Kingdom, has also earned a nomination in the Best non-Afrikaans Language Film category. The film tells the story of a young man who reluctantly travels to his ancestral land to bury his estranged father. It is the first Sotho language film to be shot in Lesotho and has won Best Film at ten international film festivals.

Chris Roland, producer and owner of ZenHQ Films says, With so many excellent and very worthy South African films that have been produced in the past year, it s great to have Die Windpomp and The Forgotten Kingdom singled out and acknowledged in this way.
