Ningbo Cultural Square to be put into use on Sept. 8

Ningbo Cultural Square will be put into use on the 28th of this month, and a series of cultural activities meeting varying tastes will be held through till October 7th.

The square sits next to the new municipal administrative center and boasts a 325 billion investment. Covering 22 hectares and with 320,000-square-meter floorage, it is the city's biggest cultural project so far.

The square will serve for four functions: Movie and Television Star Staging, Science and Technology Exhibition, Folk Art Training, and Art Salon. The Scientific Discovery Center, Poly Theater, CGV International Cineplex, Yulewan Children's Social Experience Center, etc are built nearby.

In the trial operation on September 28th, visitors will have access to the Scientific Discovery Center, Poly Theater, CGV International Cineplex, Yulewan Children's Social Experience Center, LEGO Education Center and Oxygen Dynamic Swimming Fitness Center.

According to Dai Zhiyong, the general manager of the square, prior to the opening ceremony of the cultural festival on the 28th which boasts a cruise performance, is the opening concert of the Social Art Practice Base of Shanghai Conservatory of Music. On October 1st and 2nd is the public fitness section. On the 3rd, kindergarteners will be found competing in the block building. On the 5th, audiences in the Poly Theater will see The Peacock performed by Yang Liping.

As a public cultural project, the cultural square promises visitors affordable prices under 100 yuan.

The Scientific Discovery Center and Yulewan Children's Social Experience Center will offer students free visits from Tuesday to Friday, with the former taking a varied ticket pricing strategy during the trial operation, with 30 yuan for students and 60 yuan for adults.

With all the services in their trial operation, there may be some adjustment in operating hours. Notices will be released through the official micro blog and website. With dining services not sufficient, visitors should take some food with them just in case. Buses are preferred to cars due to limited parking spaces.
