NBCUniversal has announced that USA Network's 24/7 coverage of the 2024 Paris Olympics will be available in 4K HDR with Dolby Atmos audio. NBC Olympics will be producing events in 1080p HDR and then up-converting to 4K for distribution to Altice, Comcast, Cox, DirecTV/DirecTV Stream, Dish, Fubo, Verizon, YouTube TV, and select participating NCTC members.

With more than 400 hours of 4K programming on USA Network, this is the most Olympics content in 4K offered by NBCUniversal in one Olympics. Olympic programming on USA Network will focus on Team USA and team sports like Basketball, Soccer, Beach Volleyball, Volleyball, and Water Polo. Other sports like Track and Field, 3 3 Basketball, Cycling, and Swimming will also be featured on USA in 4K. To watch this UHD coverage, viewers will need a television and set-top box / streaming device that supports 4K HDR.

According to multiple reports, NBCU has confirmed that its Peacock streaming service - which will live stream every event from the Olympics - will not feature any programming in 4K.

NBC has deployed approximately 3,000 people to work on delivering 329 events via NBC, Peacock, Telemundo, and related cable networks. In terms of scale, NBC Olympics says the technical transformation from the Tokyo Games has been massive, quadrupling in size. And, although the broadcaster will have a smaller presence at the IBC, the effort at its Stamford, CT, facility will be larger, and it will have eight studio locations throughout Paris.
