The VES members have voted, and the winners for the 13th annual Visual Effects Society Awards have been revealed. This year, Big Hero 6 and Dawn of the Planet of the Apes and were the big winners, with five and three awards, respectively.
Both Hero and Apes went into the awards as finalists in give categories, with Hero winning all of its categories. The Boxtrolls also started the evening as a nominee in five categories but came up short of the award. The VES Awards are given to those artists and animators who exemplify their craft, from effects to modeling to compositing and more.
