From the same auor of Brazil Avenue, Globo presents Rules of the Game at the 06 Natpe

With a new technology for recording telenovelas, this police thriller set in Rio de Janeiro brings together stars such as Giovanna Antonelli, Cau Reymond, Tony Ramos, and Susana Vieira

Rules of the Game, a Globo prime time telenovela about the fine line between good and evil, arrives at the 2016 Natpe. Written by Jo o Emanuel Carneiro, author of the phenomenal Brazil Avenue a Globo licensing blockbuster hit who came to more than 130 countries Rules of the Game has quick, sharp dialogues, a hallmark of the Brazilian author. In addition, the plot introduces a ground-breaking technology for recording telenovelas, which will add even more realism to the story. The result is an electrifying police thriller, with its drama and romance, told in a unique manner and with an all-star cast that will conquer international audiences.

The protagonist of Rules of the Game, Romero R mulo (Alexandre Nero, Empire and Looks & Essence ), is a former-politician of dubious character who, despite being regarded as hero of the people, is behind a powerful criminal faction. Romero sees in humble Toia (Vanessa Gi como, Empire ) a way to make more money and gain influence, and ends up battling his great rival, Juliano, played by Cau Reymond ( Brazil Avenue ), in order to achieve his ambitions. However, when he falls in love with his victim, his plans change drastically. His ambitious strategy will have an important ally, Atena (Giovana Antonelli, The Clone and Brave Woman ), who, in love with Romero, is capable of anything to defend her beloved.

In Brazil, the premiere of the telenovela, on August 31, entered the worldwide Trending Topics with #EstreiaARegradoJogo ( Rules of the Game premiere, in a free translation), used more than 100,000 times. In addition, #ARegraDoJogo (original title in Portuguese) was used more than 50,000 times and also entered a microblog s global TTs.

Rules of the Game will revolutionize the fiction market by introducing an original method for recording telenovelas that gives more freedom of action to the actors and brings dramaturgy closer to reality shows, in the way of capturing images and reaching viewers. After two years of studies involving various areas at Globo, Caixa C nica (Scenic Box) was created, with 360 degrees sets, closed and adapted to allow cameras to be integrated with them. There are more cameras in action, positioned in different and unusual set points, such as behind mirrors, pillars, and windows. Others are hidden and not even the actor in scene knows where they are. Everything is made so the audience feels that what is being seen could be real. The Caixa C nica , developed at Globo s studios, takes another qualitative leap in telenovela production.

Rules of the Game features a stellar cast: Giovanna Antonelli ( The Clone and Brave Woman ), Susana Vieira, Vanessa Gi como, and B rbara Paz (all from Trail of Lies ), Cau Reymond ( Brazil Avenue ), Tony Ramos ( Brazil Avenue ), Marco Pigossi ( Gabriela ), and Renata Sorrah ( Her Own Destiny ), among others.

Rules of the Game has 140 one-hour episodes.

Natpe 2016

Globo will be located in the Tr sor Tower, suite 2601, during Natpe, which will be held from January 19th until 22st. The Brazilian company that produce, distribute and exhibit multigenre content around the world to many platforms, will offer its traditional Screening Breakfast on the morning of the 19th (from 8:00 to 10:00 AM, in the Versailles Tower, at the Glimmer Ballroom), where it will launch its new catalog of unreleased titles.
