Video Journalist

Looking to hire an online news video presenter/producer on a contract basis with the possibility of extending to full time employment. The candidate must be able to produce and host video interviews on a daily basis, ncludes coming up with original news story ideas and taking on projects where the candidate will be expected to research, interview and present on camera.

The ideal candidate must be news savvy and have experience with:

Arranging and preparing for interviews

Briefing cameraman and interviewee on topic beforehand

Checking electronic media (wires), articles of interest in newspapers and study oversees media

Conducting preliminary telephonic and follow-up probing interviews

Directing editor to cut pictures according to storyline, editing pictures and notes

Identifying stories through research, sourcing and networking

Writing final copy of news bulletin, laying voice on tape and presenting on camera

A strong knowledge of the news and current online trends

Must have an excellent command of the English language and social media skills

In front of camera presenting experience

Must show initiative and have the ability to problem solve

Good organisational skills to manage the flow of projects

Does not settle for second best and will ensure best practice

Must have a level head to work in a high pressure environment with tight deadlines

Must be willing to work independently and as part of a team

Must have relevant degree or diploma in Journalism

At least 3 years journalism experience showcasing an extensive network of contacts.
