Masstech Shines Spotlight on Frictionless Workflows at SMPTE 2013TORONTO, Canada, June 26, 2013--Masstech Group, the leading provider of solutions that transform content into valuable assets, will highlight frictionless workflows that help media companies extract maximum value from their content when the company appears in Sydney, Australia at SMPTE 2013 on Stand G35 with partner Techtel, 23-26 July at the Sydney Exhibition Centre. During the conference, Masstech Vice President Mike Palmer will present a paper entitled Increase the Value of Media Content by Enabling Video Follows Text Drag and Drop Workflows between Diverse Systems and Locations (Thursday, July 25 at 14:00 in conference room 1).
Masstech's goal is to help media companies unlock the full potential of their content, said Mike Palmer, Masstech vice president and general manager for News. At SMPTE we will focus on three things that benefit any media operation: automating the archive process that captures important content, making it easy for staff to find and use that content, and moving the content effortlessly throughout its lifecycle from storage to distribution.
Masstech will demonstrate its complete range at SMPTE 2013, with products and solutions for requirements from smaller media operations through enterprise-caliber archiving and management systems. Products for media asset management (MAM) and other applications will include Emerald and Topaz solutions that enable automated content archiving and support production workflows across operations of all sizes, as well as the Sapphire channel-in-a-box system, and the Iris logging solution.
A highlight of the demonstrations will be Masstech's frictionless content workflow for news that allows journalists to drive a company's media asset management system through native search and drag-and-drop operations within existing desktop tools such as their newsroom computer system (NRCS). This innovation received considerable recognition at NAB 2013 where Masstech received the 2013 IABM NAB Game Changer Award, 2013 TV Technology STAR Award, and 2013 Broadcast Engineering Pick Hit Award.
That workflow is an example of how Masstech gives production staff unprecedented rapid, direct, non-disruptive access to content stored locally or anywhere within a media group.
