USFL, XFL Announce Intentions to Merge Competing spring football leagues to join forces By Brandon Costa, Director of Digital

Story Highlights
The United States Football League ( USFL ) and the XFL announced their intention to merge on Thursday.
According to the official release, the deal is subject to customary regulatory approvals. If the transaction is consummated, the new league will establish new operations based on the most recent seasons of both leagues.
More details are expected to be released at a later date.
