David Mitchell returns to test comedians survival skills in David Mitchells Outsiders series three London, 10th May 2023: UKTV today announces that David Mitchell will return in his mission to see if comedians have the mettle to survive in a post-apocalyptic society, in a new series of David Mitchells Outsiders (6x60). Produced by Wall to Wall for Dave and UKTV Play, the new series will air later this year.
David will challenge a fresh line-up of comedians to demonstrate if they will survive, thrive or epically fail, as they fend for themselves in the wild for a week to prove they have the skills to scratch together a new society in the wild.
David Mitchell said:
How brilliant that David Mitchells Outsiders is coming back for a third series and that I get the chance to put more comedians through their survival paces. I cant wait to see them flail around in the outdoors in a way that is both hilarious to watch and carries within it the darker truth that, should society collapse, most of us are in for long, agonising deaths. Plus, therell be lovely cut-away shots of wildlife which you dont get in any other panel show.
The first two series on Dave and UKTV Play have been enjoyed by over 4.2m individuals. In the new series, David will again oversee the three pairs of comedians as they vie to prove theyre adept at living in a forest with a wild set of challenges.
David Mitchells Outsiders is commissioned for UKTV by Hilary Rosen, director of commissioning, and Mark Iddon, senior commissioning editor, and ordered for Dave by Cherie Cunningham, Dave channel director. David Mitchells Outsiders is co-produced by Wall to Wall in association with That Mitchell and Webb Company. Executive producers are Leanne Klein and Victoria Payne.
Mark Iddon said:
We cant wait to get back to the great outdoors with David and a new selection of comedians. Its going to be even better this time with new challenges and new twists to unleash on our comedians.
Cherie Cunningham said:
Our audience love Davids comic voice on the channel and its a pleasure to welcome David Mitchells Outsiders back for more of his unique outdoor challenges.
Leanne Klein said:
We are excited to be getting back to the great outdoors with a new band of intrepid comedians, to see how they fare with ever more creative challenges.
David Mitchells Outsiders comes to Dave and UKTV Play later this year and joins an array of returning UKTV Originals for the channel including Alan Davies: As Yet Untitled, Meet the Richardsons and Big Zuus Big Eats.
