El ministro de Educaci n, Cultura y Deporte, igo M ndez de Vigo, ha solicitado en el Consejo de Ministros de Cultura celebrado ayer en Bruselas, impulsar las iniciativas y medidas previstas para lograr un sistema coercitivo, eficaz y equilibrado, contra las infracciones de los derechos de autor a escala comercial en los sectores audiovisual y cultural.
M ndez de Vigo ha destacado que en el ltimo a o la pirater a ha bajado en Espa a y que el Departamento de Comercio estadounidense ha puesto relieve las acciones llevadas a cabo por nuestro pa s para luchar contra la vulneraci n de los derechos de autor en Internet. Si bien, para M ndez de Vigo queda mucho por hacer .
Para ser realmente eficaz, dado el car cter transfronterizo de las vulneraciones de los derechos de autor en Internet, necesitamos medidas a nivel transnacional. No s lo vale con implantar medidas en un solo pa s , ha se alado.
En ese sentido, aprovechando la presencia del Vicepresidente de la Comisi n, Andrus Ansip, el Ministro, cuya postura ha contado con el apoyo de Reino Unido, Portugal y Francia, ha solicitado informaci n sobre el paquete de medidas para luchar contra las vulneraciones en el mbito digital en los que trabaja la Comisi n de Cultura de la Uni n Europea, en el marco de la Estrategia del Mercado nico Digital, como es la modernizaci n del r gimen de observancia/enforcement' de los Derechos de Autor.

M ndez de Vigo ha defendido tambi n la postura de Espa a en el debate sobre la propuesta de revisi n de la Directiva de Servicios de Comunicaci n Audiovisual, en el que ha se alado la necesidad de ampliar del 20 al 30% la cuota de obra audiovisual europea en el cat logo de los prestadores de servicios audiovisuales bajo demanda.
Para la promoci n de la creaci n audiovisual europea, cuyos resultados tangibles podemos ver en el mbito de la televisi n tradicional, debemos ser ambiciosos en el establecimiento de cuotas en la promoci n de la obra audiovisual. Merece la pena el esfuerzo , ha indicado el Ministro.
