As WRAL-TV gets set to air the 2024 Big Night In for the Arts, the station has received accolades for last year's broadcast! The 2023 Big Night In is the recipient of the Midsouth Emmy Award for Audio Description.
WRAL-TV Local Production Manager Don Ursich, Executive Director for the Big Night In broadcast, won alongside FOX 50 Broadcast Engineer Allen Palmer and FOX 50 Engineering Supervisor, who were both engineers on the project. The trio won in the Technical Achievement category.
Congrats to our partners WRAL and Arts Access for helping make this program accessible to all who want to tune in and enjoy the talent of our region, said United Arts in their announcement about the big win.
Tune in for the 2024 broadcast of Big Night In for the Arts on Thursday, March 7, on WRAL-TV and WRAL.com.
This year's program promises to be another unforgettable experience, featuring performances by renowned artists including Grammy-nominated musicians Pierce Freelon and Tift Merritt, local muralist Gabriel Eng-Goetz, and emerging filmmaker Jordan Wiley, with LIVE watch party performances by the dynamic Latin American dance group Takiri Folclor Latino, and award-winning bluegrass musician Tray Wellington.
Big Night In for the Arts, the partnership between WRAL-TV and the arts councils of Wake, Durham, Chatham, and Orange counties. The event, an important fundraiser for all four groups, is now in its third year.
