Speech by Dimetis at VidTrans 2013 Dietzenbach, Germany - February 21st, 2013 - Dimetis GmbH will present at VidTrans13 (February 26th to 28th in Los Angeles) the Video Contribution Project (VICO), a recent deployment for the Swiss broadcast service provider SRG SSR. Dimetis implemented a file based contribution solution leveraging the flexible BOSS FILE TRANSFER Manager product. BOSS FILE TRANSFER Manager is a pay-as-you-grow solution that allows SRG SSR to add new departments as needed and adapts to their specific workflows.

SRG SSR was facing the challenge to provide workflow based file exchange between different locations, departments and external customers utilizing infrastructures based on diverse technologies. Another very important aspect of the VICO project was to achieve ease of usability and hiding complex processes and technical decisions from the user. BOSS FILE TRANSFER Manager can enable and disable functions and workflows in the user interface depending on the responsibility, skill and function of the user that needs to transfer the file. BOSS FILE TRANSFER Manager is capable of a high degree of automation thanks to the wide range of third-party systems that are integrated and can be directly monitored and controlled. User management, format conversion, quality check, WAN acceleration, bandwidth management, asset management, notification, meta data mapping, and more can all be bundled in workflows using Dimetis' solution, obtaining significant gain in productivity and customer satisfaction.
