SAMMA(R) Migration Solutions

The SAMMA(R) product line from Front Porch Digital offers a range of migration solutions built to meet a content owners specific archive migration needs. Whether its a single SAMMAsolo or a multiple-stream SAMMArobot, SAMMA solutions maximize efficiency by encoding to multiple formats simultaneously while also analyzing content to ensure the quality of the migration.

SAMMAsolo HD -- Single-Stream Multiformat Tape Migration

SAMMAsolo HD has increased computing power to encode simultaneously to a greater number of file types than ever before. Multiple preservation, mezzanine, and proxy files can be created all at once without sacrificing CPU power. The HD version also provides the most flexible video format conversion on the market for the digitization of video and audio. New 10-bit broadcast-quality picture scaling from SD to HD allows users to upconvert archives for future needs. The motion-compensated SAMMAsolo HD provides the highest broadcast-quality standards conversion using phase correlation techniques to provide accurate motion vectors on a per pixel basis, enabling the smoothest frame rate conversion possible.

SAMMAsolo is also available in an SD version.

SAMMAclean(TM) -- True Archival-Quality Videotape Cleaning System

SAMMAclean(TM) cleans videotapes faster than real time while actively collecting metadata and assessing videotape condition. It provides delicate and thorough cleaning of master tapes at one-tenth the typical VTR playback tension. The SAMMAclean software graphically reports overall tape quality, cleanliness, and many other key metadata statistics, and the collected metadata is saved to an open XML format for later reference. The software application includes a programmable automatic mode for standalone, one-button operation, and is a fully internationalized user interface that can be customized for any local language. Three SAMMAclean models are available for U-matic (large and small cassette), Betacam (large and small cassette), and VHS (standard-size cassette).
