Cine Gear Expo to Screen Tomorrowland and more at Paramount Studios Event

Acclaimed entertainment industry event, Cine Gear Expo, being held at Paramount Studios June 4-7, 2015 will offer complimentary screenings of four blockbuster feature films, Slamdance short film finalists, and numerous legendary clips and shorts sponsored by its prestigious exhibitors. For 20 years, the Cine Gear Exhibition and Seminar Series has brought together artists and technicians alike, to share the latest art and craft of the Hollywood industry. Audiences will be treated to state-of-the-art projection systems in the Paramount and Sherry Lansing Theaters, and Screening Room 5.

Sony invites attendees to experience Monkey Kingdom on Thursday, June 4, 6:00pm in the Paramount Theatre.Disneynature's latest True Life Adventure combines narrative story telling techniques with nature filmmaking to tell the story of Maya, a clever toque macaque, with voiceover narration by Tina Fey. It was shot over three years in the jungle for over 1,000 camera days, on the Sony F65 and F55 motion picture cameras.

Band Pro will present a rare 65mm screening of Baraka on Friday, June 5 at 1:00pm in the Sherry Lansing Theater. Shot in 25 countries on six continents, Baraka is a series of stunningly photographed scenes that capture what director Ron Fricke calls a guided mediation on humanity. A Q&A with Producer Mark Magidson moderated by Jon Fauer, ASC will follow.

Crowning this year's Cine Gear Expo on Friday night 7:00-10:00pm (June 5) will be a 4K screening of the newly released Tomorrowland and exclusive Q&A Panel Discussion with the film's creators, presented by Sony in the Paramount Theatre. Two-time Oscar winner Director Brad Bird, Oscar winner Cinematographer Claudio Miranda, ASC and Co-Producer/VFX Producer Tom Peitzman are scheduled to appear. Tomorrowland stars George Clooney, Hugh Laurie and Britt Robertson in a science fiction movie from Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures.

At 8:15pm, Friday, Digital Bolex teams up with Slamdance to showcase films shot on Digital Bolexs D16 cinema camera, in the Sherry Lansing Theatre. Cine Gear marks the first time Digital Bolex footage will be projected in native 2K resolution in Los Angeles. Featuring audience favorites from the sold-out Digital Bolex Fearless Filmmaking Showcase at the 2015 Slamdance Film Festival plus new works, the shorts program includes Coming To directed by Lindsey Haun, winner of this year's Showcase, and Blood Drinker, Vimeo's staff-pick by Joe and Lloyd Stas.

On Saturday, June 6, 6:00-9:00pm Sony will show EX MACHINA followed by an exclusive Q&A with Rob Hardy, BSC, in the Paramount Theatre. EX MACHINA is a 2015 British science fiction thriller film, written and directed by author and screenwriter Alex Garland, making his directorial debut. The film stars Domhnall Gleeson, Alicia Vikander and Oscar Isaac. It was shot with the Sony F65 motion picture camera using Xtal Express lenses (Joe Dunton anamorphics).

Cine Gear Expo Film screenings are free to registered attendees but are subject to availability so Cine Gear encourages early arrival for the first come first serve events.
