El estudio londinense Subfrantic Production Services ha venido hist ricamente empleando consolas de mezcla Yamaha gracias a su fiabilidad, calidad y flexibilidad. Ahora, ha invertido en un sistema de mezcla digital Rivage PM10 a fin de mantenerse a la vanguardia de la producci n t cnica.
Subfrantic, con sede en Londres, ha aumentado constantemente su perfil en el Reino Unido y los mercados de producci n en el extranjero desde que fue fundada en 1993, cuando la mezcla digital de grandes shows en vivo era inaudita. En ese momento, la PM4000 de Yamaha era una consola anal gica del Front of House , recuerda el director ejecutivo Steve Davies. Fue un lujo raro encontrarte detr s de una .
El lanzamiento en 2001 de la PM1D digital de Yamaha marc la senda en la producci n en directo. Como asegura Davies, Yamaha fue la fuerza motriz detr s de la revoluci n digital. Buscando una segunda consola para mezcla de gran formato, Steve y su equipo consideraron varios mezcladores digitales que podr an cumplir con sus criterios. Fue la calidad de Rivage PM10 lo que convenci a Subfrantic de que era la mejor inversi n.
Hay tantas cosas impresionantes al respecto. En primer lugar suena incre ble. Se ejecuta a 96k y el modelo Rupert Neve Designs y la unidades TC Electronic son impresionantes tan realistas y precisas. El procesamiento en cada aporta una mezcla asombrosa. Tambi n es muy f cil de usar. Cada consola Yamaha tiene una sensaci n familiar y no toma mucho tiempo averiguar c mo funciona. Si el usuario conoce el manejo de las M7CL o CL, mezclar en PM10 en minutos. Adem s, es incre blemente flexible. Por ejemplo, puede desvincular todas las pantallas y bancos de faders de otras reas del escritorio, por lo que varios ingenieros pueden trabajar en la misma consola o tener distintas secciones de la consola configuradas para realizar trabajos diferentes. De hecho, si agregas una pantalla adicional y un rat n, podr as tener hasta cuatro personas mezclando el mismo programa , asegura Steve Davies.
Otros ejemplos de flexibilidad de Rivage PM10 son c mo la red TwinLane del sistema puede ejecutar hasta 400 canales sobre fibra, mientras que la integraci n con Nuendo Live sobre Dante para grabaci n y sonido virtual (hasta 144 canales) es muy simple de usar.
Todo est tan bien pensado y dise ado, desde cosas importantes como ser capaz de acceder tanto a los buses de monitor con casquillos de auriculares a cada lado de la consola, hasta peque os detalles como los titulares de auriculares retr ctiles iluminados. Y por supuesto, las consolas Yamaha son incre blemente fiables .
