SAfm calls for script entries --

Local radio station SAfm is looking to broadcast new and original script ideas from writers. Writers are invited to explore the medium of sound and submit a script in the form of a one hour radio play in English, which is to be broadcast on the station. Plays must be specifically written for radio; stage plays or plays requiring adaption will not be considered.
Writers are encouraged to be inspired by theatre of the mind and to write using dialogue, music and sound effects to help the listener imagine the characters and story.
There are no limits to the choice of topics or the style of writing: comedy, tragedy, fable or folklore, social or domestic drama (slice of life). There is also no restriction on the number of entries which an author may submit.
Prizes
First prize: R50 000
Second prize: R30 000
Third prize: R20 000
The competition deadline is 28 February, 2015 and winners will be announced on SAfm on 31 March 2015.
