TFL and Kids Company

TFL and Wild in Art unveiled 28 sculptures from the Year of the Bus Sculpture Trail today in Trafalgar Square! Bus sculptures have been placed across London in a public trail which started on 20th October the 20th October, before being auctioned off next year. Proceeds are going to Kids Company, Transaid and London Transport Museum.

One of our extremely talented young artist and Kids Company Ambassador Arizona has designed the sculpture Childhood on a Bus', sponsored by long term supporters Mizuho, to raise awareness of the challenges facing London's underprivileged children and young people, many of whom escape from abuse and homelessness by sleeping on buses overnight. This bus can be seen outside Mizuho's offices in Bracken St, near St Pauls.

COMING UP

HUNGRY CHILDHOODS is an art exhibition created by our children and young people based on research conducted by The University of Reading about the experiences of food insecurity by children and their parents accessing Kids Company services.

Christmas Plans at Kids Company

For vulnerable children the Christmas period can be a time of devastating loneliness, shame and despair. This year, with rising levels of poverty, too many children face waking up on Christmas Day without a hot meal or warm clothes and without a single gift to open. They would rather forget Christmas altogether.

With your support we can make this a magical day to remember for thousands of vulnerable children so they can feel the joy of being a child at Christmas.

You can help us hold a huge party for the 4,000 children and young people we are expecting on the day complete with games, storytelling, a Santa's grotto and of course a Christmas dinner and presents! We also aim to support a further 12,000 in the community with desperately needed food and gift parcels.

There are so many ways you can help in the run up to Christmas whether as a team or on an individual basis. From fundraising and donating gifts to volunteering or sending our e-card we would love for you to get involved. Please get in touch with your Fundraising Account Manager who can provide you with further details and support you with your fundraising.

DOUBLE YOUR DONATION IN JUST ONE CLICK!

If you are planning on donating towards our Christmas appeal (http://content.thebiggive.org.uk/about/about-us/), why not double your donation?

Donations from £5 to £5,000 made on 4th, 5th and 6th December could be DOUBLED by charity organisation The Big Give with the help of Ella's Kitchen, our Charity Champions, so please save any donations you are planning to make before Christmas for these dates to help us get the most out of this fantastic opportunity.

How it Works:

Please donate as close to 10am as possible (this is because the doubling of funds will pause when The Big Give funds for that day have been exhausted). A message will be clearly displayed on the website and the doubling will then resume at 10am the next day.

All donations will support Kids Company's project to give our children and young people a Christmas to remember.

When the time comes, simply click the Donate Online Now button on the Kids Company page of The Big Give's website.

Whole Foods and Kids Company

Whole Foods Market is running a till drive from 1st November until Christmas Eve with all proceeds going towards helping us with the increased food provision over the Christmas period. All seven stores across London are running the drive where you can make a donation at the tills to help us meet our Christmas needs.

We are looking for volunteers to help us raise awareness in store so if you have a spare hour or so and would like to help Kids Company during this crucial time please email fadila.hilali@kidsco.org.uk to register your interest.
