In a sign of its ongoing commitment to independent film, Technicolor-PostWorks, New York, provided post production services for eight films screening at the 2014 Sundance Film Festival. The facility delivered a variety of creative and technical services, ranging from editorial systems to color grading, for the films, which include two dramatic features, a comedy feature, three feature-length documentaries and two shorts.
Several of the films went through final post production processing at The Room, Technicolor-PostWorks' boutique finishing facility, founded by master conforming editor Ben Murray. Technicolor-PostWorks has a long history of support for Sundance, including this year serving as an Official Technology Supplier.
We are very happy to have contributed to the festival this year-a particularly exciting one for New York filmmakers, said Technicolor-PostWorks CTO Joe Beirne. Our Sundance projects reflect an immense range, from an intimately tranquil narrative, Memphis, to Edet Belzberg's magisterial study of the struggle against genocide, Watchers of the Sky. We continue our long collaboration with Alex Gibney with his Finding Fela!, which opens up the life of the transcendent Afro-Beat star, and are proud of our color work on Jeff Preiss's Low Down, John D. Harkrider's All the Beautiful Things, and David Wain's They Came Together, as well as on the short films Immaculate Reception and Jonathans Chest. Our warmest congratulations go to all the filmmakers.
