Screen Australia congratulates all the cast, crew and creative teams whose work was celebrated and recognised at this year's AACTA Awards.

8 out of the 9 scripted and documentary feature and series categories were won by titles funded by Screen Australia:

Best Drama Series Total Control*

Best Telefeature or Mini Series Lambs of God*

Best Documentary or Factual Program Old People's Home for 4 Year Olds

Best Documentary - The Australian Dream*

Best Indie Film Buoyancy*

Best Film The Nightingale*

Screen Australia's 2018/19 Drama Report showed the industry experienced a record expenditure on Australian stories, demonstrating the demand for our local content remains high.

It is an extraordinary time for Australian screen content and the projects honoured at this year's awards including Lambs of God, Buoyancy, The Letdown, Robbie Hood and of course Bluey demonstrate the outstanding quality and diversity of Australian stories being told, which are resonating with audiences here and overseas, said Screen Australia CEO, Graeme Mason. The power of documentary filmmaking is the ability to tell stories that reflect us, challenge us and enrich us, and this was perfectly embodied by best feature documentary recipient The Australian Dream.

Special mention must be made to Jennifer Kent's The Nightingale, which has garnered acclaim all over the world since taking out the Special Jury Prize at Venice Film Festival last year. This film shot in Tasmania is haunting and evocative and we are proud to have been able to support it from development through to production.

The masterfully crafted and captivating series Total Control from Blackfella Films was Australia's first TV series to be selected to screen at Toronto International Film Festival and shows the continued global interest for distinctive Australian stories.

Congratulations to honourees Sam Neill and P.J. Voeten and heartfelt thanks to their contribution to our industry.

In 2018/19, Screen Australia directly invested over $75 million in Australian screen stories, talent and businesses.
