Cape Town weather forecast: Rain set to land on Monday, 4 March

If you've been enjoying the lovely warm temperatures in the south-west this weekend, then we hope you've made the most of it. A smattering of rain showers is set to hit the region on Monday, according to the most recent Cape Town weather forecast.

Both Ventusky and weather.com have got the Mother City down for a brief sprinkling. This follows on from another brief cold front that visited the Cape last week, with a few millimetres of the wet stuff making landfall.

However, Monday looks like it could be a bit of a damp squib for water-wise residents. Here's what locals can expect to encounter at the start of the week, although it's more likely you'll need a hoodie rather than an umbrella:

Cape Town weather forecast for Monday 4 March From about 8:00 onwards, the first few spots of rain are expected to push inland towards the north-east.

Around 11:00 is when the most rain is expected to fall, but this will come in short sharp bursts. The smattering will reach as far north as Hopefield and towards an eastern extreme of Barrydale on the Garden Route.

Fish Hoek and Simon's Town will be the most gleeful recipients. The city of Cape Town itself doesn't look likely to receive anything more than 1mm.

Not much hope for the dams Only the dams in the Steenbras catchment area look likely to benefit from this mild cold front. The upper and lower facilities can expect to receive 1-2mm before the weather clears up in the afternoon.

If you are in the Mother City, you can expect a cloudier day than usual before the sun eventually breaks through just after midday. As far as Cape Town weather forecasts go, this one may be a little underwhelming for those hoping that the heavens will open.
