US commercial collaboration: Ad Hoc Announcement Pursuant to 5 WpHG

Carl Zeiss Meditec AG (ISIN: DE0005313704) is in advanced negotiations about a US commercial collaboration agreement with Abbott Medical Optics Inc. (AMO), Santa Ana, USA in the field of cataract surgery. Closing of the collaboration agreement is expected shortly.

The aim of the collaboration is to establish a new distribution channel for ZEISS devices for cataract surgery in addition to the existing ZEISS sales channel.

The intended agreement shall be non-exclusive and limited to the US market.
