NAB 2026: OpenDrives Introduces Edge Hybrid Cloud-Edge Performance Accelerator

OpenDrives is introducing OpenDrives Edge at NAB Show 2026, a hybrid cloud-edge performance accelerator for distributed video and rich media workflows. The product will be demonstrated at two West Hall locations: the Sports Business Hub pod (W3443-E) and Cabana W1158.

Edge provides automated data movement between a central data hub and distributed edge locations, enabling teams to pull data once, cache it locally, and work at local LAN speeds. Changes are automatically synced back to the central source. The system supports policy-based data tiering, keeping active datasets closer to users while moving less frequently accessed data to lower-cost storage tiers.

The first phase of Edge is now available through the Atlas platform's Containers Marketplace, with connections to AWS, Google Cloud, and Microsoft Azure. Oracle Cloud support is planned. Future releases will extend Edge beyond Atlas to additional hardware and cloud compute infrastructure.
