From music to mobile paymentTelenor shortlists 5 Digital Winner contenders Press Releases: 02 November 2012

Never before have there been so many applicants for Telenor's Digital Winners Prize. A lucky five candidates were selected by the jury and will compete for the win during the Digital Winner Seminar on November 14-15.

After evaluating a total of 44 candidates from Norway, Sweden and Denmark, the jury selected these innovative digital service providers for the shortlist:

- iZettle; Sweden, mobile payments

- Soundrop; Norway, music service

- dSafe; Norway, digital receipts

- iFrapp; Norway, do-it-yourself app builder

- Magine; Sweden, cloud based TV services

5 contenders, 5 exciting service areas This award helps draw attention to digital services that are unique, innovative and relevant for people today. Our five nominees each address different needs and several exciting areas of development, said Rolv-Erik Spilling, Chairman of the Digital Winner Prize Committee and the new Head of Telenor Digital Services.

We have definitely felt the enthusiasm this year, and faced a tough choice in narrowing down the candidates. But we are confident that we've found the best of the best, and expect great things to come from all five of these digital superstars, Spilling added.

Digital Winner awarded cash and collaboration The five shortlisted candidates will have an opportunity to give the Digital Winner jury a more in-depth look at their business before a winner is decided. The Digital Winner prize comes with a cash award of 200,000 NOK, along with the opportunity to develop their product or service in cooperation with Telenor, for potential distribution in Telenor's global operations. The jury bases its ultimate decision on finding the best representative of Telenor's vision and values, due to its user-friendliness and ability to inspire consumers to take part in the digital world.

The Jury The eight member jury is headed up by Rolv-Erik Spilling. Other members include Marie Nilsson, CEO Mediavison; Rikard Steiber, Global Marketing Director Mobile & Social, Google, San Francisco; Erling Maartman-Moe, Partner Alliance Venture; Morten Munk-Hansen, Digital Director Maxus Gobal; Georgi Ganev, CEO at Dustin Group; Sven Strmer Thaulow, CEO Telenor Comoyo AS; and Dagfinn Myhre, VP, Research and Future Studies, Telenor Group.

Digital Winner Seminar 2012 The Digital Winner Prize will be handed out at the Digital Winner Seminar, November 14-15, 2012, at Telenor's Fornebu headquarters. The event will feature Rikard Steiber of Google, Rene Rechtman of AOL Advertisment, Steffen Kragh of Egmont, Peter Ekelund of HBO and many more.
