Netflix Secures Creative Partnership Deal With Nico Moolenaar, Belgian-Dutch Creator Behind Hit Series Undercover and Ferry

Amsterdam - October 3, 2022 - Netflix announced today a creative partnership deal with Nico Moolenaar, creator of the hit series Undercover and Ferry. Under the terms of the deal, Nico will produce new series exclusively for Netflix's 221 million members worldwide.
Antoinette Beumer, Director Local Language Originals Benelux at Netflix: This will be the first local creative partnership deal with a screenwriter in the Benelux and underlines our ambition to bring more local content to the region. Having witnessed Nico's magic whilst collaborating on Undercover and Ferry, we're already aware of his great talent for turning stories into hits. We're looking forward to working with Nico and the team to bring their shows to our members in the Benelux and beyond.

About Nico Moolenaar
Nico Moolenaar is a Belgian-Dutch screenwriter and producer. He is best known for his work as showrunner and co-creator of the television series Undercover. The first season of Undercover was the most watched show of 2019 in the Netherlands when it was released on Netflix and has since grown into an international success. Filming for the prequel series Ferry, the sequel to the 2021 film of the same name, is currently underway. It tells the story of the early years of drug lord Ferry Bouman (Frank Lammers) and his wife Danielle (Elise Schaap).
