Christian Radio Broadcasters Prepare for SES- Satellite Retune

On March 2, 2015 @ 11:59:52AM ET, the following procedures should be used to retune CRC radios from the current data rate and symbol rate to the new data rate and symbol rate.

Current CRC data rate: 05.405 New CRC data rate: 06.5109

Current Symbol Rate: 3.910 New Symbol Rate: 4.71

Unity 4000

From the Main Screen showing the Unity-4000/SN/EbN0, press the right arrow to go to the Hardware Setup screen. Press Select .

At the Current Settings screen press Select .

Current RFIN FREQ should be 04043.42 and current DATA RATE should be 05.405. Press Select to edit .

Press the right arrow until the first set of digits are flashing on the DATA RATE. Use the down arrow to change the first two digits to 05, then press the right arrow once and change the second two digits to 40, then press the right arrow once and change the last digit to 5. Press Enter to save. The Data Rate should now read 06.5109.

Press Enter to save. Right arrow twice to get to the Cancel/Save screen. Press Enter to save settings.

Unity 4600

From the Main Screen showing Prog#/4043.43MHZ/Eb/N0, press the right arrow until you see the Transp Date Rate screen and press Enter

The current value should be 05.405Mbps. Press Enter to edit.

Using the Left, Right, Up, and Down arrows change the value to 06.5109

Press Enter to save.

Press the right arrow until you see the Unit Setup screen. Press Enter to edit. Use the right arrow until you see the Save Current to Preset screen. Press Enter save it to Preset 1. Message should appear Adding settings to preset 1 .

The receiver will return to the main Menu on its own.

Unity 500 (Connected to a monitor with composite input)

Press the Enter button.

Press the Select button until you see the Carrier Select Screen. Press Enter to edit.

Use the Select button to move the cursor to the Date Rate line. Press Enter .

The current Data Rate Value is 005.405

Using Select to highlight digits and Enter to change digits, change the value to 06.5109.

Use the Select button to exit the line. Use the Select button to arrow down to the Activate Selection & Exit line. Press Enter This should take you back to the main Screen.

Unity 550 (Connected to a monitor with composite input is recommended)

Press Enter

Main Menu display, using the down arrow move down to the Carrier Settings

Line. Press Enter

Carrier Setting screen displays. Using the down arrow move to the Current Channel line, Press Enter . Arrow down to the Data Rate line.

The current setting for Data Rate is 005.405.

Press Enter . Using the up or down arrows change the value to 006.5109.

Press Enter . Arrow down to the Commit Changes line Press Enter .

Receiver will fall back to default on its own.

Star Cruiser (Sat Cruiser, Monitor and remote required)

Press the Menu button on the remote. Main Menu displays.

Arrow down to the Installation line. Press Ok on the remote.

The Installation screen will appear. Arrow down to the TP Configuration line.

Press Ok on the remote. TP Configuration screen appears.

The current Satellite should be 87.0 W AMC3_C. Arrow down to the bottom window that displays a list of the Frequencies for that satellite. Scroll down the list till you find the Freq 4043 and the Symbol Rate of 03910. Press Ok on the remote.

A screen will appear that says 87.0 W AMC3_C . Arrow down to the Symbol Rate line. Press Ok on the remote. A cursor should appear under the current setting of 071400. Enter the new Symbol Rate of 04710. Press Ok on the remote. Press the Exit button on the remote. Press the Radio button on the remote. Audio should return.

Samsung ( Monitor and remote required)

Press the Menu button on the remote. A Menu will appear with the following selections; Installation/Channel Organizing/Parental Lock/System Setup. Highlight Installation line. Press Ok on the remote. A pop-up window will appear asking for a PIN Code. The default PIN is 0000. Enter the correct code. A sub-Menu will appear. Arrow down to Manual Scanning line. Press OK on the remote. This will display a Menu with the current satellite. The current satellite should be AMC3C.

Arrow down to the Symbol Rate line. The Current Setting should be 7.140.

To enter the new Symbol Rate of 4.71, simply enter 0471 on the keypad of the remote. On the Samsung remote press the Text button. This will save the settings you just changed. Press Exit until you reach Main screen. Audio Should Return.
