We surveyed our users and we've heard you loud and clear. You want to do the right thing when it comes to stock media licensing, but a lot of vendors just make it so darn hard. Our survey showed an overwhelming interest in having stock media licensing that is clear, easy to understand, and explicit about how you can and can't use the content you've downloaded.
Since Storyblocks updated and simplified our licensing terms in 2017, we've had some of the least restrictive terms in the stock business. (No really, check out our Standard license and then compare it to some of our competitors). The reason we're able to keep our license agreements so lean is we think about licensing differently. We've put together this video to show you how we're different, and also to explain the unique benefits between our two tiers of licensing: Standard and Enterprise.
To break it down for you in writing, here's the view from 10,000 feet: You can license all of our content with one of two license options: Standard or Enterprise.
Our Standard license:
Is written to an individual person
Is royalty-free
Allows for unlimited distribution, with zero restrictions on geography or project format
Comes with a legal guarantee of up to $20,000
Content downloaded from our Marketplace and covered by a Standard license comes with one major restriction: your project's production budget must not exceed $20,000. We have this in place because we source our content for our Marketplace and Member Libraries differently, and we want to make sure our Marketplace contributors are fairly compensated.
Our Enterprise license:
Can be written to an individual person or a business entity (aka company)
Is royalty-free
Allows for unlimited distribution, with zero restrictions on geography or project format
Comes with a legal guarantee of up to $1,000,000
Puts no restrictions on production budget for both Member Library and Marketplace content
