SEASON TWO OF GLOBAL NEWS' ORIGINAL INVESTIGATIVE SERIES THE NEW REALITY PREMIERES OCTOBER 2 ON GLOBAL New Season Launches with Carolyn Jarvis' Canadian Exclusive on Vaccine Boosters Program Airs Saturdays at 7 p.m. Local Time on Global

TORONTO, October 1, 2021 - Global News is proud to announce that its popular made-in Canada current affairs program, The New Reality, returns for its second season premiering October 2 at 7 p.m. locally on Global.

Led by a team of award-winning journalists, The New Reality showcases documentary-style features, investigative reports, with a focus on dynamic stories about the fabric of our communities and interviews with the people shaping our future. The program will introduce audiences to extraordinary people, new concepts, unseen places and untold stories.

The season launches with Global News Chief Investigative Correspondent Carolyn Jarvis' exclusive story inside vaccine manufacturer Moderna's Boston operations as they develop COVID-19 boosters. Carolyn will dive into the debate around boosters, immunity and vaccine efficacy. Also in the Season 2 premiere, The New Reality travels to a remote area of eastern Quebec where reporter Krista Hessey spoke with the unlikely alliance of defenders of the Magpie River, and those behind the growing Rights of Nature movement that seeks to protect the environment through the legal system.
