Eden Independent Film Festival invites you to attend in George

The Cape Film Commission is pleased to announce the launch of the Eden Independent Film Festival in George from Friday 30 October to Sunday 1 November 2015 and offering you free passes to attend the festival. We believe we have put together an exciting line up of films and workshops highlighting the South African film industry and reflecting on the year of cultural exchange with the United Kingdom.

We are grateful for the support from the National Lottery Commission as our principal sponsors, the City of George and the British Council. In producing the festival, we have also partnered with the 48Hr Film Project and the Shnit International Short Film Festival to bring additional depth to our programme, this will further showcase local film production and South African short films.

The festival workshops will include panel discussions and mentoring sessions featuring some of the best and most experienced film makers in South Africa together with high level representatives of the SABC who will discuss and advise on what their expectations are from the local industry.

As this is the first festival of what will hopefully be an annual event, we have decided to offer complimentary weekend passes to CFC members.

Attached is the final programme for the event. Please note that although this is finalised, it is still subject to change.

Should you wish to attend, please email your ID number and CFC membership number to info@capefilmcommission.co.za no later than Wednesday 7th October 2015.

Seats for the Sunday morning workshop and local tour are limited, so please indicate on your email whether you would like to attend those events.

Please note only one weekend pass per person and passes are only available for application until close of business next Wednesday.

Should you have forgotten your CFC membership number, please email accounts@capefilmcommission.co.za to request it.

Please note that passes will be allocated on a first come first served basis. If you have been successful in your application we will notify you during the week of 11 October. Passes can be collected from the George Arts Theatre from Monday 26th October 2015 during normal business hours.

We would like to specifically thank the Mayor of George and his Office for their support in organising the festival together with officials from the Eden District and the George and Knysna Municipalities.
