07-08-2013 SGL Group Awarded Seal of Approval as One of Germany's TOP 100 Most Innovative Companies Wiesbaden, July 8, 2013. SGL Group The Carbon Company has been awarded the seal of approval as one of the TOP 100 most innovative medium-sized German companies in an industry-wide comparative analysis. Once again, the carbon specialists have ascended to the ranks of the ten best innovators.
This is the fourth time that SGL Group has been honored with this award, standing out from competitors through its clear innovation strategy, effective processes and methods, and exceptional commitment to cooperative ventures and company networks.
Dr Gerd Wingefeld, member of the Board of Management of SGL Group: To develop future technologies such as lightweight construction with carbon fibers or lithium-ion batteries for e-mobility, we are promoting the formation of company networks all along the different value chains. Examples of such networks include the Carbon Composites Association (CCeV) with its MAI Carbon Leading-edge Cluster Initiative and the KLiB Lithium-ion Batteries Network of Expertise.
Compamedia GmbH makes these awards on the basis of a scientific analysis conducted by the Institute for Entrepreneurship and Innovation at Vienna University of Economics and Business Administration, headed by Professor Nikolaus Franke. This year, 245 companies were assessed in the following categories: Innovation-friendly senior management , Innovative climate , Innovative processes and organization , and Innovations marketing/external orientation . The results of the analysis are made available to the participants in the form of a benchmarking report.
