Wi an innovative programming strategy, Total Dreamer reached 9 million viewers in Brazil

Globo's modern fairy tale includes an online spin-off to broaden the audience's experience

With an innovative programming strategy, the Globo telenovela Total Dreamer' came to an end reaching more than 39 million viewers, 41 rating points and a 58% share (Source: Ibope) in Brazil.

The campaign went through various phases such as the production of an episode zero, which was broadcast exclusively on the entertainment portal GShow.com days before the release of Total Dreamer'. Another strategy, was the introduction of Fedora, one of the characters of the succeeding telenovela Haja Cora o, on last episode of Total Dreamer'. With a cheerful and friendly tone, both telenovelas and their characters were united, thus making an official pass and calling the audience for the next day's premiere, at the same time slot. Also, for the first time in Globo's history, a telenovelas final episode was broadcast on a Monday instead of the network's traditional Friday release. And to close, Globo created its first telenovela spin-off so fans can keep watching some of the plot's iconic characters online.

The audience's great interest on the telenovela during the seven-month period in which it was aired, made content related to the story reach more than 200 million views on Globo's digital platforms, and led to the creation of the spin-off, which will be released exclusively at GShow.com. The project will have 10 episodes, which reinforces Globo's strategy to produce multi-platform content and to expand consumer and commercial opportunities.

On the air since November of 2015, on Globo's prime time, Total Dreamer' reached the largest audience in the time slot in the last four years. And The plot wasn't only a hit in Brazil. On air in Portugal since March on Globo basic channel, it has already reached the top 5 most watched cable TV programs in the country.

The Total Dreamer' plot

With scenes filmed in countries such as Australia and Uruguay, Total Dreamer' is a modern fairy tale that intertwines the stories of the young girl Eliza (Marina Ruy Barbosa, Empire'), Carolina (Juliana Paes, ndia A Love Story'), Jonatas (Felipe Simas Caribbean Flower'), and Arthur (F bio Assun o, Tropical Paradise'). As a background story, the telenovela presents the Garota Totalmente Demais contest, which is created as a partnership between a fashion magazine led by the ambitious Carolina, the Excalibur, owned by bon vivant Arthur and a cosmetics company. In the plot, Eliza is a humble girl who dreams of becoming a professional model in order to help her family. The young girl becomes Arthur's bet to win the contest. Full of emotion, the telenovela presents characters who deal with the consequences of their choices, recognize victories and learn from their mistakes.
