At the NABShow, currently taking place in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA, Blackmagic Design has continued its rollout of 6G-SDI based products while also unveiling the world s first 12G-SDI product, as well as a new film scanner and studio camera, various upgrades to its existing post-production solutions.

Among the products on display are:

Cintel Film Scanner: The new Cintel scanner converts 35mm film into Ultra HD digital content

Broadcasters can easily generate Ultra HD feature film and television programming from existing content from 35mm archives, to match growing consumer demand

Wall mounted film scanner is constructed using aircraft design techniques for a stiff, vibration free main deck to ensure smooth film handling

Blackmagic Studio Camera: The world s smallest live broadcast camera with the world s largest viewfinder

Specifically designed for live production with 1080HD and Ultra HD models

10 viewfinder, 4hr battery, talkback, tally indicators and phantom powered microphone connections

Built in optical fiber and SDI connections that connect to a production switcher with a single cable

Active Micro Four Thirds lens mount

Teranex Express: The world s first 12G-SDI high quality up and down converter for SD, HD and Ultra HD

Provides broadcasters testing Ultra HD transmission with multi rate 12G-SDI connections fast enough to support progressive Ultra HD video at up to 60fps

Real time processing using advanced patented Teranex algorithms with 178 different SD, HD and Ultra HD up and down conversions complete with audio, closed captions and timecode

For post production, we have also announced DaVinci Resolve 11, a major update, which dramatically improves its online editing features while also adding a photographer friendly colour correction interface. New collaborative workflow tools also allow multiple users to work simultaneously on the same timeline.
