RT Radio Scoops Top Awards at Prestigious New York Festivals 18 June 2013: RT Radio 1 and RT lyric fm were among the big winners once again at the prestigious New York Festivals Awards 2013, with 11 awards across a range of categories.
With nominees representing radio stations from 28 countries, finalists included broadcasters from Australia, Canada, France, India, Spain, the United Kingdom and the USA, among others. RT was honoured with a total of 11 awards.
RT Radio 1's acclaimed Documentary on One series received six awards, with wins in the Health/Medical documentary category, in the Sports & Recreation documentary category, in the Best Narration category, in the Social Issues category, the History category and the Profiles/Community Portraits category. In addition, the Documentary on One received three finalists nomination certificates. RT Radio 1's Drama on 1, received two awards in the Best Writing and Best Director category, while also receiving two finalist certificates.
RTE lyric fm collected awards for The Lyric Concert, The Lyric Feature, and the programme Sonnets for the Cradle'.

RT Radio was named New York Festivals International Broadcaster of the Year in 2011 and 2012.
