We're proud to say we survived 2019, and we're even more proud that the Games category on Kickstarter flourished once again. Kickstarter backers funded over 3,700 games projects from established gamesmiths like Steve Jackson and exciting fresh voices like Brandon Dixon.
We're so grateful that we continue to be a home for games of all stripes. Let's have a look back at 2019.
Backers pledged over $219 million to Games in 2019, up from 2018's $201 million.Our community continues to astound us by consistently putting fresh, creative projects out there and faithfully rallying around those projects. Have a look at these numbers:
7,068 Games projects launched in 2019, up from 6,820 in 2018.
Over 1 million people (1,052,965) pledged to Games projects in 2019, up from 868,084 in 2018.
More than 3.6 million people have backed a Games project on Kickstarter, which is more than the combined populations of Chicago and Austin.
