Corp's Angie Emerline accepts the Healthiest Employer Award from TBJ Publisher Bryan Hamilton on behalf of CBC.
On Thursday, December 22, 2014, the Triangle Business Journal honored Capitol Broadcasting Company as one of the Top 35 Healthiest Employers in the Triangle. CBC earned a spot on the list for a variety of benefits and a workplace atmosphere that support making and health and wellness and priority for our employees.
CBC was the first Be Active workplace in North Carolina and continues a strong wellness initiative with Be Active CBC. We provide monthly reimbursements towards health club memberships, personal trainer sessions and movement classes. In the past year we started a Wellness Initiative through which employees train and participate together in 5k and 10k's in the area. CBC sponsors an on-site Weight Watchers program free of charge to our employees who attend.
CBC also encourages all employees to become CPR-certified and maintain that certificate with on-site training during work hours. And each fall we hold an annual Health Fair through which employees can get a check on their health and earn health insurance premium discounts simply for participating and working towards a wellness goal.

The Triangle Business Journal has honored Capitol Broadcasting as one of the Top 35 Healthiest Employers of the Triangle for 2014.
Wake County Economic Development Director Adrienne Cole emceed the awards presentation.
