Televisa and Univision join their assets leading to a Spanish-speaking production giant in America El nuevo conglomerado Televisa-Univision surge con una posici n nica para de oportunidad de mercado dirigida a los hispanohablantes en todo el mundo.

Grupo Televisa and Univision Holdings ha cerrado este martes, 13 de abril, un acuerdo para combinar sus activos creando as un gigante medi tico de habla hispana que dar servicio a millones de usuarios.

El nuevo grupo busca atender al mercado potencial de 600 millones de hispanohablantes mundiales, de los cuales 128 millones son mexicanos y 61 millones viven en Estados Unidos.

Los contenidos que suman ambas empresas abarcan m s de 300.000 horas de programaci n, convirti ndose en el depositario m s grande de contenidos y propiedad intelectual en espa ol del planeta.

Televisa contribuir a con contenidos por aproximadamente 4.800 millones de d lares y Univision aportar 3.000 millones de d lares en efectivo, 1.500 millones de d lares en acciones propias y 300 millones de d lares de otras fuente

La nueva Televisa-Univision pondr sus miras en el mercado de streaming en espa ol, para lo cual lanzar una plataforma conjunta con socios estrat gicos como SoftBank, Google y The Raine Group as como el fondo de inversi n ForgeLight que aportar n 1.000 millones de d lares a la operaci n y se unen al grupo de accionistas actuales integrado por el propio ForgeLight, Searchlight, Liberty Global y Grupo Televisa.

Un gigante multimedia en espa ol Emilio Azc rraga, presidente ejecutivo del consejo de administraci n de Televisa, ha destacado que con la escala que resultar de la fusi n Televisa-Univision busca una capacidad amplia para producir una cantidad sustancialmente mayor de contenidos, sobre todo en M xico. Esta combinaci n estrat gica genera un valor significativo para los accionistas de ambas empresas y nos permitir llegar de manera m s eficiente a todas las audiencias de habla hispana con m s de nuestra programaci n .

Por su parte, el director ejecutivo de Univision, Wade Davis, ha subrayado que esta combinaci n transformadora re ne a la cadena l der que sirve a las audiencias en espa ol de Estados Unidos con la plataforma de medios l der en M xico impulsada por el motor de contenido en espa ol m s poderoso del mundo. Televisa-Univision surgir como la principal compa a global multimedia en espa ol, en una posici n nica para capturar la importante oportunidad de mercado para los hispanohablantes en todo el mundo .
